LOS ANGELES, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Clippers have signed veteran free-agent guard Jason Williams, the NBA team announced Thursday.
The 32-year-old Williams, noted for his ball-handling skills, has been in the league 10 seasons, the last three with the Miami Heat.
"Jason is an experienced and proven player," General Manager Elgin Baylor said. "He is a terrific ball-handler with great passing ability and court vision."
Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team but ESPN said it learned from NBA sources that Williams got a one-year deal.
The 6-foot-1 Williams has averaged 11.4 points and 6.3 assists in 679 NBA regular-season games. He has averaged 9.8 points and 3.7 assists in 53 playoff contests.
Williams has also played for the Sacramento Kings and Memphis Grizzlies.
