SAN DIEGO, July 12 (UPI) -- Jake Peavy put together his second straight seven-inning shutout performance Friday, lifting the San Diego Padres to a 4-0 blanking of Atlanta.

The Braves fell to 1-3 on their current western trip and remained stuck on just 13 victories in 45 road games this season.

Heath Bell worked the eighth and Mike Adams put two men on with two out in the ninth. Trevor Hoffman was called on to get the final out, which he did by fanning Brent Lillibridge to earn his 17th save.

Scott Hairston tripled to open the San Diego first inning and scored on a groundout by Edgar Gonzalez. Hairston added a double in the third and came in on Adrian Gonzalez's single.

Those two runs were charged to Jo-Jo Reyes (3-8), who lasted four innings.
