Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

HOUSTON, July 2 (UPI) -- Jeff Kent's solo homer in the 11th inning Tuesday delivered the Los Angeles Dodgers a 7-6 victory over the Houston Astros.
Kent finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Russell Martin aided the Dodgers' effort by going 3-for-5 with three runs batted in and three runs scored, including a two-run homer. James Loney added two hits and an RBI.
Chan Ho Park (4-2) picked up the win with 1 1/3 scoreless frames as Los Angeles ended a two-game losing streak.
Houston got two RBI from Carlos Lee, who was 4-for-5, and Ty Wigginton blasted a three-run homer.
Wesley Wright (3-3) took the loss, allowing Kent's home run in two innings of work.
The loss ended the Astros' win streak at three.
