MLB: Houston 4, Texas 3

HOUSTON, June 24 (UPI) -- Lance Berkman's 21st home run of the season Tuesday lifted the Houston Astros to a 4-3 inter-league victory over the Texas Rangers.

Veteran Houston pitcher Brian Moehler (4-3) allowed one run on five hits with a pair of walks and five strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings. Jose Valverde gave up a two-run home run to Ramon Vazquez in the ninth, but still got his 19th save.

Rangers starter Eric Hurley (0-1), who was just nine years old when Moehler started his pro career, gave up two runs on six hits with three walks and one strikeout over six innings.

Houston took the lead for good in the second inning when Berkman doubled and scored on Ty Wigginton's base hit, and Humberto Quintero drove in Wigginton home with a double.
