DENVER, June 7 (UPI) -- A two-run home run by Brad Hawpe climaxed a five-run eighth inning Friday that rallied the Colorado Rockies to their third straight win -- 6-4 over Milwaukee.
The three-game winning streak comes after the Rockies had dropped the first eight contests during a 10-game road trip.
Colorado appeared headed for another loss Friday, but the Rockies batted around in the eighth to get the win.
Jon Herrera opened the inning with a single off Guillermo Mota (2-4) and moved to second on a base hit by Ryan Spilborghs. Todd Helton then doubled home Herrera, and Spilborghs and Helton scored on a triple by Garrett Atkins to tie the game at 4-4.
Brian Shouse came in to relieve Mota and Hawpe hit his first pitch out to right. Shouse retired three of the next four men he faced, but the Brewers' six-game winning streak came to an end.
Manny Corpas (1-3) got the win by working the top of the eighth and Brian Fuentes earned his ninth save.
Russell Branyan and J.J. Hardy hit solo homers for Milwaukee.
