OAKLAND, Calif., May 25 (UPI) -- Justin Duchscherer and Huston Street combined on a one-hit shutout Saturday in the Oakland Athletics' 3-0 win over Boston.
Duchscherer (4-3) struck out four batters and walked none in eight innings, in Oakland's third win in a row.
He lost a no-hit bid when David Ortiz stroked a one-out single in the top of the seventh.
Street, the closer, recorded his 10th save this season with a 1-2-3 ninth.
Oakland scored on Emil Brown's second-inning fielder's choice ground-out, Ryan Sweeney's solo homer in the seventh and an eighth-inning single by Sweeney.
The homer was Sweeney's second this season.
Bobby Crosby had two hits for the Athletics, who improved to 6-11 against Boston in home games since the start of the 2005 season.
Losing pitcher Josh Beckett (5-4) surrendered two earned runs and seven hits in seven innings with no walks and nine strikeouts.
