
NEW YORK, May 25 (UPI) -- Jose Molina's RBI double finished a four-run eighth-inning rally Sunday and the New York Yankees edged Seattle 6-5.
New York trailed 5-2 before Molina, Bobby Abreu and Robinson Cano each drove in one run and another run scored on a throwing error by losing pitcher J.J. Putz (1-2).
Derek Jeter and Johnny Damon also had one RBI and Molina finished with two of the eight hits for the Yankees, who completed a three-game sweep with their fifth straight victory.
The winner was Edwar Ramirez (1-0) after 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief and Mariano Rivera picked up his 12th save with a perfect ninth.
Seattle got two runs, two hits, one a solo homer, and two RBI from Ichiro Suzuki. Jose Vidro had two hits and two RBI.
Yuniesky Betancourt had two hits and one RBI and Kenji Johjima added a run and two hits for the Mariners, who have lost five in a row.
