TORONTO, May 22 (UPI) -- Lyle Overbay put Toronto in front with a sixth-inning homer Thursday and the Blue Jays held on to down the Los Angeles Angels 4-3.
The Angels overcame a 3-0 deficit to tie the contest in the top of the sixth, but Overbay launched a one-out home run to right off LA starter Ervin Santana (6-2). Toronto won for the third time in five games.
A.J. Burnett (5-4) got the win thanks to Overbay's blast. Burnett gave up three runs on six hits in six innings.
B.J. Ryan worked a perfect ninth for his 10th save.
Santana gave up nine hits in six-plus innings while striking out seven.
Toronto scored twice in the third on Marco Scutaro's double, Joe Inglett's triple and Brad Wilkerson's single.
A bases-loaded single by Rod Barajas in the fourth gave the Blue Jays another run.
Jeff Mathis, Maicer Izturis and Sean Rodriguez each drove in a run for the Angels.
