SAN DIEGO, May 10 (UPI) -- Brad Hawpe's two-run single in the sixth put Colorado in front Friday and the Rockies went on to win their third straight -- 4-2 over San Diego.

Aaron Cook (6-1) allowed only three hits over seven innings to win his sixth straight start and hand the Padres their fifth consecutive loss.

Brian Fuentes came on in the ninth to protect a three-run lead and gave up a one-out, solo homer to Kevin Kouzmanoff before picking up his fourth save.

Jake Peavy (4-2) doubled and scored the first San Diego run, but he gave up three runs on seven hits over six innings to take the loss.

Colorado trailed 1-0 going into the sixth, which Willy Taveras opened with a bunt single. Taveras made it to second when Peavy threw the ball away and a sacrifice sent Taveras to third. Matt Holliday and Todd Helton then walked to load the bases.

Garrett Atkins singled in Taveras to tie the game and Hawpe delivered two more runs with a base hit to right.
