MLB: Boston 5, Minnesota 2

MINNEAPOLIS, May 10 (UPI) -- Four solo home runs Saturday helped the Boston Red Sox to a 5-2 win over Minnesota.

The homers were hit by Kevin Youkilis in the top of the second, Coco Crisp and Jed Lowrie in the seventh and Mike Lowell in the eighth. Boston's Dustin Pedroia hit an RBI single in the ninth.

Lowrie had three hits and four players had two for the Red Sox, who have won two of three.

Winner Daisuke Matsuzaka (6-0) gave up two earned runs and six hits in seven innings with three walks and seven strikeouts. Closer Jonathan Papelbon earned his 11th save.

Minnesota got one RBI each from Carlos Gomez and Justin Morneau.

Mike Lamb had three hits and Morneau two for the Twins, who have lost two of three.

Losing pitcher Glen Perkins (0-1) gave up three earned runs and nine hits in six innings. It was his first start since he was recalled to replace injured reliever Pat Neshek (elbow).
