TORONTO, May 9 (UPI) -- The Toronto Blue Jays Friday added outfielders Brad Wilkerson and Kevin Mench to their injury-depleted roster.
Wilkerson was a free agent after being released by Seattle this season and Mench was acquired from the Texas Rangers for cash.
Wilkerson, 30, hit .232 with no home runs and five RBI in 56 at-bats. Mench, also 30, batted .282 with three homers and 18 RBI in 29 games at Triple-A Oklahoma. The six-year veteran was demoted in spring training.
The Blue Jays Thursday placed infielders David Eckstein (strained hip flexor) and John McDonald (sprained right ankle) on the 15-day disabled list.
Also on Friday, infielder Joe Inglett was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse, while pitcher Gustavo Chacin and infielder Sergio Santos both were designated for assignment.
