NHL: Philadelphia 3, Montreal 2

PHILADELPHIA, April 28 (UPI) -- The Philadelphia Flyers scored three times in the second period Monday to post a 3-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens in Game 3 of the Eastern semifinals.

Scottie Upshall, Mike Richards and R.J. Umberger each scored a goal for the Flyers, who hold a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Philadelphia goalie Martin Biron stopped 32 goal attempts.

Tomas Plekanec and Saku Koivu each had a goal for the Canadians.

Carey Price gave up all three Philadelphia goals on 12 shots. Price was replaced after the second period by Jaroslav Halak who blocked the only two shots he faced.

Game 4 is scheduled for Wednesday in Philadelphia.
