MLB: St. Louis 5, Milwaukee 4

ST. LOUIS, April 17 (UPI) -- Adam Wainwright threw 7 2/3 innings and hit a home run Wednesday, leading St. Louis to a 5-4 victory over Milwaukee.

Wainwright (2-1) gave up two runs on five hits and struck out six with only one of the runs being earned.

Jason Isringhausen came on to pick up his league-leading sixth save, although he gave up two runs on three hits while doing so.

Albert Pujols drove in two runs for St. Louis, winners of four out of five. Skip Schumaker added a solo homer.

Carlos Villanueva (1-2) took the loss, surrendering five runs on eight hits over 4 2/3.
