Rockets point guard out at least a week

HOUSTON, April 15 (UPI) -- Houston Rockets said Tuesday their starting point guard Rafer Alston will be out of action at least one week with a hamstring injury.

Alston, 31, underwent an MRI Tuesday that revealed a moderate to severe strain of his right hamstring. He suffered the injury in the third quarter of Sunday's game at Denver and did not play Monday night at Utah.

Alston is averaging 13.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists for the Rockets this season.

Houston is tied with Phoenix for the fifth seed in the Western Conference, Both teams end their regular season Wednesday. The Rockets will be at home against the Los Angeles Clippers, while Portland visits the Suns.
