COL BKB: North Carolina 82, Florida St. 70

CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 14 (UPI) -- Tyler Hansbrough's 22 points and six rebounds Friday led top-ranked North Carolina over Florida State 82-70 in an ACC quarterfinal in Charlotte.

UNC trailed 11-6 with 15:14 left in the first half, but seized the lead for good at 18-16 with 12:26 left on Hansbrough's jumper.

North Carolina's lead was 35-28 at the break and as big as 15 points in the second half.

Wayne Ellington had 19 points and five rebounds and Marcus Ginyard added 10 points and six rebounds for the Tar Heels (30-2), who beat FSU three times this season.

Florida State got 23 points with three assists and two steals from Jason Rich.

Toney Douglas had 18 points, five assists and three steals and Ralph Mims added 15 points for the Seminoles (19-14), who likely won't qualify for the NCAA Tournament after splitting their last four games.
