NEW YORK, March 3 (UPI) -- Toronto center Mats Sundin, who helped the Maple Leafs to an unbeaten week, was selected the top NHL star of the week, the league said Monday.

Boston goaltender Tim Thomas and Philadelphia winger Mike Knuble were also honored by the NHL, which selects three stars of the week each Monday.

Sundin had four goals and four assists for the period Feb. 25-March 2 while Toronto had three wins and a tie in four games. He has 552 goals in his career, putting him in 22nd place on the all-time NHL chart.

Thomas won all three of his games last week and had a goals-against average of 0.97 while saving 96.2 percent of the shots on the Bruins' goal. He had 22 saves in a 4-0 won last Tuesday against Ottawa, which was his sixth career shutout.

Knuble had three goals and five assists as the Flyers matched Sundin's Maple Leafs with three wins and a tie last week.
