COL BKB: Washington St. 70, California 49

BERKELEY, Calif., Feb. 29 (UPI) -- Taylor Rochestie led 22-ranked Washington State to another solid road effort Thursday -- a methodical 70-49 victory over California.

The Cougars have lost half their eight home games in conference play this season, but their only losses on the road have come against UCLA and Arizona.

Washington State had a five-point advantage at halftime, but turned that into a 17-point cushion midway through the second period and coasted from there.

Rochestie scored 16 points and Kyle Weaver had 15 for the Cougars (22-6, 10-6 Pac 10), who shot 53 percent from the field and made eight of 16 shots from three-point range.

California (15-11, 6-9) was led by Ryan Anderson with 17 points. No other member of the Golden Bears scored in double figures. California has dropped four out of five.
