NHL: N.Y. Islanders 1, Tampa Bay 0

UNIONDALE, N.Y., Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Rick DiPietro recorded his third shutout of the season Thursday, making 32 saves and carrying the New York Islanders to a 1-0 win over Tampa Bay.

The game's lone goal came from Miroslav Satan, but it was enough to give the Islanders their sixth straight win. It is their longest winning streak in four seasons.

The shutout was the 14th of DiPietro's career. Karri Ramo suffered the loss despite making 27 saves on 28 shots.

Satan gave the Islanders the lead at 5:37 of the third by lofting a wrist shot over Ramo's right pad. Drew Fata, playing in his fifth NHL game, earned his first career assist on the goal.

The Islanders have won all three meetings with Tampa Bay this season.
