NHL: Boston 3, Carolina 2 (SO)

RALEIGH, N.C., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- David Krejci and Phil Kessel both scored in a shootout after the Boston Bruins gave up a two-goal lead Tuesday to pull out a 3-2 win over Carolina.

Tim Thomas made 45 saves in regulation. Marc Savard and Zdeno Chara tallied the Bruins' first two goals.

Carolina goalie Cam Ward had 36 saves in defeat.

Thomas yielded two late goals by Ray Whitney and Erik Cole that led to a scoreless overtime session and then the shootout.
