Kotsay, 32, appeared in just 56 games last season after back surgery. He hit .214 with one homer and 20 RBI. Over 11 seasons, including stints with San Diego and Florida, he has posted a .282 average with 103 home runs and 560 RBI in 1,340 games.

It was reported Oakland will pay all but $2 million of Kotsay's $7.35 million salary in 2008.

Devine has appeared in 25 games over three seasons with the Braves, with a 1-1 record and a 6.86 earned run average. Richmond, 21, was 16-7 with a 2.48 earned-run-average in three minor-league seasons in the Atlanta organization.
