Austrian Hosp wins Slovenia slalom

MARIBOR, Slovenia, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Austria's Nicole Hosp increased her World Cup points lead Sunday with a slalom victory at Maribor, Slovenia.

The defending cup overall champion finished in 1:40.55, almost a half-second ahead of Slovakian Veronika Zuzulova.

Lindsey Vonn of Vail, Colo., placed 17th. Julia Mancuso of Olympic Valley, Calif., was 24th.
