LOS ANGELES, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen combined for 74 points and 26 rebounds Sunday night in a 110-91 romp over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Pierce had 33 points and eight rebounds, Garnett had 22 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, and Allen had 19 points and six rebounds for the Celtics, who won their sixth straight game and their 15th out of 16.

Kobe Bryant led LA with 22 points on 6-of-25 shooting. Lamar Odom finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Lakers, who lost for the first time in their last five games.

The Celtics used an 8-2 run late in the first quarter to go up 32-23. The Lakers scored 11 unanswered points in the second to cut the Boston lead to 45-37 and trailed by eight at the half.

Boston scored the last 10 points of the third to go up 82-66 and held the Lakers off the rest of the way.

In a nod to past Lakers-Celtics rivalries, LA dressed its players in "throwback"-type shorts -- not quite as short as the pants players wore in the days of Jerry West and Bill Russell, but a lot shorter than the baggy pants currently in favor in the NBA. They went back to the baggy style for the second half.
