NHL: N.Y. Rangers 4, N.Y. Islanders 2

NEW YORK, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Chris Drury's second-period goal put the New York Rangers in front for good Thursday night as they fought off the New York Islanders 4-2.

It was the Rangers' first win over their cross-town rivals in four tries this season.

Drury gave the Rangers a 2-1 lead with a power-play goal 6:10 into the second and Scott Gomez delivered another power-play tally 10 minutes later.

After the Islanders closed within one in the third, Brandon Dubinsky gave the Rangers insurance with a tip-in 3:16 from the final horn.

The Rangers went 10-3-1 in November and moved into a share of first place in the Atlantic Division with Philadelphia.

Henrik Lundqvist made 22 saves for the Rangers.

Miroslav Satan and Mike Comrie scored for the Islanders.
