NHL: New Jersey 3, Tampa Bay 2

TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Brian Gionta scored twice in the second period Saturday night as the New Jersey Devils beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2.

Gionta raised his goal total to seven this season, scoring at 4:49 and 12:19 of the second.

New Jersey scored three times in the period for a 3-1 lead. The other goal was scored by David Clarkson.

Zach Parise had two assists and goalie Martin Brodeur stopped 34-of-36 shots for the Devils, who were unbeaten during a four-game road trip.

Tampa Bay got one goal each from Jason Ward and Vincent Lecavalier, who also assisted on Ward's third period tally.

Goalie Johan Holmqvist stopped 18-of-21 shots for the Lightning, who had won five in a row before their four-game losing streak.

On the power play, New Jersey went 1-for-4, and the Lightning went 2-for-4.
