NHL: Tampa Bay 5, Washington 2

TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Brad Richards, Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis had a goal and two assists each Friday night to carry the Tampa Bay Lightning past Washington, 5-2.

The Lightning won for the fifth straight time after losing six in a row. Washington has dropped three consecutive games and seven out of eight.

Johan Holmqvist made 28 saves for the Lightning, who scored twice in the second period to take a 4-2 lead.

Lecavalier scored just 91 seconds into the game, but Alexander Ovechkin and Brooks Laich had goals 44 seconds apart to move the Capitals in front.

Jan Hlavac tied it for Tampa Bay with 4:41 remaining in the opening period.

The Lightning went in front for good on a power-play goal by Richards in the second period.
