Roethlisberger earns weekly player honor

NEW YORK, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was selected the AFC's offensive player of the week.

The four-year veteran completed 23-of-34 passes for 278 yards with two touchdowns and scored once on five rushes for a career-best 49 yards in helping the Steelers rally to beat Cleveland, 31-28, after a 21-6 deficit.

Also named in the AFC were cornerback Antonio Cromartie (defense), who equaled a team record with three interceptions in the Chargers' 23-21 victory against Indianapolis, and San Diego kick returner Darren Sproles (special teams), who became the ninth player in NFL history to score on a kickoff and punt return in the same game.

The NFC honorees were St. Louis quarterback Marc Bulger (offense), Arizona linebacker Karlos Dansby (defense) and Atlanta placekicker Morten Andersen (special teams).

Bulger completed 81.8 percent of his passes with two touchdowns and no interceptions to help the Rams surprise New Orleans, 37-29, for their first win this season.
