DENVER, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Paul Stastny had two goals and one assist Sunday night as the Colorado Avalanche beat the Minnesota Wild, 4-2.
Stastny's eighth goal of the season, at 5:59 of the second period, gave Colorado a 2-0 lead. His ninth, at 14:57 of the second, made it 3-1.
Colorado's Ryan Smith and Wojtek Wolski (power play) both scored once.
Wolski added an assist, and goaltender Peter Budaj stopped 25-of-27 shots, as the Avalanche beat Minnesota for the eighth time in the last 11 meetings between the two teams.
Minnesota's Eric Belanger and Pierre-Marc Bouchard both scored once.
Goalie Niklas Backstrom was beaten four times on 26 shots for the Wild, playing for the first time since a 5-2 home victory against Edmonton last Monday.
In man-advantage situations, Colorado went 2-for-6, and Minnesota was 2-for-4.
