SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Tim Duncan had 24 points and 13 rebounds Tuesday, leading the San Antonio Spurs to a 106-97 win over the Portland Trail Blazers in their season opener.
Tony Parker added 19 points for the defending NBA champion Spurs, who won their fourth NBA title in the last nine seasons last year. Manu Ginobili added 16 points and eight assists for San Antonio.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 27 points to lead the Blazers. Martell Webster added 21 points and Joel Przybilla had 13 points and 10 rebounds for Portland.
Center Greg Oden, the Blazers' No. 1 overall pick in June's draft, is out for the year after having right knee surgery in September.
