NFL: San Diego 35, Houston 10

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Philip Rivers three for three touchdowns and Antonio Cromartie scored twice for the defense Sunday afternoon, as the San Diego Chargers beat Houston, 35-10.

Antonio Gates caught three passes for 92 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Chargers (4-3), who have won three straight. LaDainian Tomlinson ran for 90 yards on 17 carries.

Cromartie recovered a fumble in the end zone for a first quarter touchdown and then returned an interception 70 yards for a second-quarter score.

Matt Schaub managed just 11-of-18 passing for 77 yards and two interceptions for the Texans (3-5) before leaving with an injury. Backup Sage Rosenfels went 17-of-27 for 176 yards and one TD, and Adimchinobe Echemandu rushed for 62 yards on 10 carries.

Houston has lost five of six games since starting the season 2-0 for the first time in franchise history.
