Dolphins QB Green had concussion Sunday

DAVIE, Fla., Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Miami Dolphins Coach Cam Cameron said Monday quarterback Trent Green suffered a concussion during Sunday's game against Houston.

Green was carried off the field in the first quarter after suffering the concussion as a result of a blow to the head. On a reverse play, Green attempted a low block on Houston lineman Travis Johnson, but Johnson's right knee connected directly on Green's helmet. Green laid on the field motionless for several minutes before he was carted away.

He was taken to a local hospital and returned to the team after the game.

The Dolphins acquired Green from the Kansas City Chiefs this off-season in exchange for a draft pick based on the two-time Pro Bowl quarterback's playing time this season.

This was the second serious head injury in as many seasons for Green, who suffered a severe concussion in the 2006 season opener that kept him on the sideline for half of the season.
