Murray, Robredo make Metz final

METZ, France, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Tommy Robredo and Andy Murray Saturday won their semifinal matches at the Open de Moselle indoor tennis tournament in Metz, France.

The top-seeded Robredo, from Spain, beat Frenchman Nicolas Mahut, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, while the Englishman Murray downed second-seeded Guillermo Canas of Argentina, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4.

Robredo won 51 of 60 points on first serve, hit 13 aces, and saved three of four break point opportunities.

Murray, a wild-card entry, advanced to his third ATP final this season.

He was able to convert only two of seven break point opportunities, but hit six aces on his serve.

A wrist injury suffered in Hamburg in May put Murray on the sidelines for nearly three months after he reached at least the semifinals in five of his first six tournament appearances.

"The key was my serve," Murray told the BBC. "This was a test (and) now I feel I'm getting close to my best level."

Sunday's winner will collect a first-prize check of $79,000.
