MADISON, Miss., Sept. 28 (UPI) -- David Branshaw had birdies on the final two holes and finished with a 4-under 68 Friday to take a one-shot lead at the Viking Classic in Madison, Miss.

Half the field had to complete the first round Friday after a long weather delay had disrupted play Thursday. All but six players were able to finish 36 holes Friday, with Branshaw recording a 10-under 134.
