MLB suspends Milwaukee manager, pitcher

NEW YORK, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Major League Baseball announced Thursday Milwaukee Manager Ned Yost and pitcher Seth McClung were suspended because of an incident Wednesday night.

McClung hit St. Louis slugger Albert Pujols with a pitch during the eighth inning of a game the Cardinals led, 3-2. St. Louis went on to score four runs in the inning after McClung and Yost were ejected.

An announcement from the commissioner's office said McClung "intentionally" threw a pitch at Pujols. McClung was suspended for three games and fined an undisclosed amount.

Yost was suspended for one game and was also fined.
