NFL: Pittsburgh 37, San Francisco 16

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Willie Parker ran for 133 yards on 24 carries and Ben Roethlisberger was 13-for-20 with one TD Sunday, as the Pittsburgh Steelers beat San Francisco, 37-16.

Heath Miller caught four passes for 82 yards and Najeh Davenport rushed for a touchdown for the Steelers (3-0) -- who also benefited from outstanding special teams’ play. Allen Rossum scored on a 98-yard kick return and Bryant McFadden returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown.

Alex Smith went 17-of-35 passing for 209 yards with a touchdown and the interception for the 49ers (2-1). Frank Gore managed to gain just 39 yards on 14 carries.

Darrell Jackson caught four passes for 69 yards for San Francisco.
