COL FB: Oregon 55, Stanford 31

STANFORD, Calif., Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Dennis Dixon threw four touchdown passes -- a career best -- Saturday night as 13th-ranked Oregon trounced Pac-10 foe Stanford, 55-31.

The senior from Oakland went 28-for-38 passing for 374 yards and also rushed for one touchdown.

Jonathan Stewart scored once on 19 carries for 160 yards and two others rushed for one score as the Ducks improved to 4-0 (1-0 Pac-10) and won their first four games for the second straight season.

Stanford, which had a 31-24 halftime lead, got two touchdown passes from T.C. Ostrander on 25-for-44 passing for 261 yards.

Anthony Kimble scored twice on 17 carries for 119 yards, and Mark Bradford scored once on six receptions for 71 yards.

Kimble added 168 yards on seven kickoff returns, but the Cardinal (1-2, 0-2 Pac-10) surrendered 31 second half points after a 28-point second quarter.
