MLB: Boston 16, Tampa Bay 10

BOSTON, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Kevin Youkilis' bases-loaded triple gave Boston the lead Tuesday and the Red Sox outlasted the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 16-10.

Kevin Cash also drove in three runs, and Jacoby Ellsbury, Dustin Pedroia, David Ortiz and J.D. Drew each homered for the Red Sox, who remained five games in front of the New York Yankees for the AL East lead.

Third baseman Mike Lowell was the only Boston starter without an RBI, but he had four hits and scored three times.

Red Sox starter Tim Wakefield gave up seven runs on 10 hits in three-plus innings. Bryan Corey (1-0) got the win with a scoreless inning of relief.

Carlos Pena hit a three-run home run and Akinori Iwamura also had three RBI for the Devil Rays.

Tampa Bay starter Andy Sonnanstine gave up five runs on eight hits over 3 1/3 innings.
