NFL: Dallas 23, Indianapolis 10

IRVING, Texas, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Tony Romo was 10-for-11 passing Thursday and Keith Davis scored on an interception return as the Dallas Cowboys beat Indianapolis, 23-10, in a preseason game.

The Cowboys played for the first time under Coach Wade Phillips, who was hired when Bill Parcells stepped down after Dallas' disappointing exit from the playoffs last season.

Romo threw for 97 yards and stayed in for two possessions -- both of which ended in field goals.

Dallas had a 6-3 halftime lead. Davis made it 13-3 when he intercepted a tipped pass from Jim Sorgi and brought it back 47 yards for a score. Sorgi had replaced Peyton Manning at quarterback after the Colts' first series of the night.
