MLB: Washington 6, St. Louis 3

WASHINGTON, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Dmitri Young hit a two-run double in a three-run eighth Sunday as the Washington Nationals defeated the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-3.

Young wound up with three RBI and Nook Logan scored and drove in a run for the Nationals, who were 6-0 on their homestand.

Matt Chico yielded three runs on six hits over five innings. Ray King (1-0) earned the win and Chad Cordero pitched a perfect ninth for his 23rd save of the year.

Adam Wainwright pitched seven innings, allowing three runs on eight hits and also hit his second career home run for St. Louis, which has lost five in a row.
