MLB: St. Louis 9, Milwaukee 5

ST. LOUIS, July 29 (UPI) -- Albert Pujols drove in three runs Sunday and the St. Louis Cardinals scored five times in the eighth to beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 9-5.

Ryan Ludwick had two RBI and David Eckstein had three hits, two runs scored and an RBI, as the Cards won for the fourth time in their last five games.

Ryan Franklin (4-0) earned the win, allowing one hit in 1 2/3 innings of relief.

St. Louis starter Kip Wells went five innings, giving up five runs on 11 hits while striking out seven.

Johnny Estrada was 3-for-4 with two RBI for Milwaukee, which has lost six of its last eight games.

Derrick Turnbow (2-4) took the loss, giving up with four runs on four hits in one-third of an inning.
