Stepanek has defeated Blake twice in his career. He advanced to Sunday's final after German wildcard Nicolas Kiefer withdrew before their semifinal match Saturday because of a knee injury.

Blake, who was looking for his second title of the year and 10th overall of his career, beat seventh-seeded South Korean Hyung-Taik Lee in the semifinals to move into Sunday's final.
