MLB: Kansas City 8, Tampa Bay 7

KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 7 (UPI) -- Mark Grudzielanek's two-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth Saturday night handed the Kansas City Royals an 8-7 win over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Brendan Harris' RBI single in the top of the ninth tied the game at 7-7. Tony Pena started the bottom of the inning with a single off Shawn Camp (0-3), and then went to second on David DeJesus' sacrifice bunt and then to third on Esteban German's groundout.

Camp intentionally walked Mark Teahen before Grudzielanek drove a 1-0 pitch into right field.

Billy Butler homered and drove in two runs while German scored twice for the Royals, who tied the game in the eighth.

With the Devil Rays leading 6-4, Tampa Bay reliever Jay Witasick walked the first three batters to load the bases before Casey Fossum walked the next two to tie the game.

Kansas City closer Octavio Dotel (2-1) got the win after blowing the save.
