MLB: Detroit 7, Philadelphia 4

PHILADELPHIA, June 17 (UPI) -- Craig Monroe had a two-run single in a five-run seventh inning Sunday as the Detroit Tigers beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-4.

Magglio Ordonez went 2-for-3 with three RBI for the Tigers.

Justin Verlander (8-2) -- who no-hit Milwaukee Tuesday night -- allowed three runs on seven hits, while walking two and striking out six in six innings.

Chase Utley had three hits and Nunez had two hits and an RBI for the Phillies.

Philadelphia starter Adam Eaton worked six innings. He gave up three runs on six hits.

Geoff Geary (1-2) took the loss.
