MLB: NY Yankees 5, Chi. White Sox 1

CHICAGO, June 6 (UPI) -- Chien-Ming Wang gave up five hits in going the distance Wednesday, carrying the New York Yankees to a 5-1 decision over the Chicago White Sox.

Wang improved to 5-4 while striking out four and walking one. He helped the Yankees to their third win in four games.

Alex Rodriguez drove in two runs and Bobby Abreu contributed a homer.

The loss went to Javier Vazquez (3-4), who allowed four runs on seven hits in six innings. The White Sox have lost four out of five.

New York took control with a four-run third, which featured a bases-loaded single by Rodriguez.

Wang had not thrown a complete game since last July against Tampa Bay.
