MLB: San Diego 4, Pittsburgh 2 (11)

PITTSBURGH, May 31 (UPI) -- Mike Cameron hit a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning Thursday night as the San Diego Padres beat Pittsburgh, 4-2.

The game went to extra innings after a 2-2 tie through nine.

San Diego's Khalil Green hit a sacrifice fly, also in the 11th.

Cameron had two RBI and three of the team's eight hits, Adrian Gonzalez had one RBI, and Josh Bard had two hits for the Padres, who have won four of five.

The winner was Cla Meredith (2-2).

Trevor Hoffman recorded his 16th save of the season.

San Diego starter Greg Maddux yielded two earned runs and nine hits over 6 2/3 innings.

Jason Bay and Freddy Sanchez both had one RBI for Pittsburgh. Bay, Jack Wilson and Ryan Doumit had two hits each for the Pirates, who have split their last four games.

The loser was Josh Sharpless (0-1).

Pittsburgh starter Shawn Chacon gave up three hits in seven scoreless innings, with one walk and 10 strikeouts.
