MLB: San Francisco 9, N.Y. Mets 4

SAN FRANCISCO, May 8 (UPI) -- Bengie Molina homered twice in the fifth inning Monday night, as the San Francisco Giants beat the New York Mets, 9-4.

Molina finished with five RBI, and Rich Aurilia smacked a three-run homer for the Giants, who have won three of their last four games.

Barry Zito (3-3) yielded three runs on seven hits in six innings, striking out five and walking one for the Giants.

Mets starter Oliver Perez (3-3) gave up eight runs -- two earned -- on five hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Shawn Green had two hits and an RBI for the Mets, who lost their second straight game.

The Mets opened the scoring in the fifth on an RBI double by Jose Reyes, but the Giants scored nine runs in the bottom of the fifth -- starting with a two-run homer by Molina, who capped his team's scoring later in the inning with a three-run shot off Mets reliever Lino Urdaneta.
