PITTSBURGH, May 2 (UPI) -- Alfonso Soriano, Jacque Jones and Cliff Floyd Wednesday hit home runs as the Chicago Cubs beat Pittsburgh, 8-6, in a game suspended by rain Tuesday night.
Heavy rain came in the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday night, with the Cubs leading 6-5.
Derek Lee had four hits and one RBI; Soriano had two runs, three hits and two RBI; Jones had two runs, two hits and one RBI; and Matt Murton had two runs, two hits and one RBI for the Cubs -- who have won three of their last four games.
The winner was Rocky Cherry (1-1).
Ryan Dempster earned his fifth save of the season.
Five players had one RBI; Freddy Sanchez had a run and three hits; Ronny Paulino, Jack Wilson and Chris Duffy had two hits each; and Paulino scored twice for the Pirates, who have lost three of four.
The losing pitcher was Jonah Bayliss (2-2).
