MLB: Atlanta 5, Philadelphia 2

ATLANTA, April 30 (UPI) -- Andruw Jones hit a game-ending three-run homer in the ninth inning Monday to give the Atlanta Braves a 5-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Braves starter Tim Hudson gave up only four hits and two runs in eight innings, while walking one. The two runs raised his earned run average from 1.22 to 1.40. Reliever Mike Gonzalez (1-0) pitched a scoreless ninth.

Chipper Jones also homered for the Braves, who have won three of their last four games.

Jon Lieber gave up seven hits and two runs -- one earned -- and walked six in seven innings.

The Phillies have lost three of five since winning five straight.
