CALGARY, Alberta, April 18 (UPI) -- Jarome Iginla scored the game-winner as Calgary slipped by Detroit 3-2 Tuesday in Game 3 of the Western Conference quarterfinal series.
Matthew Lombardi scored on the power play in the first period and Mark Giordano did the same in the third period to lead up to Iginla's deciding score. Miikka Kiprusoff made 28 saves for Calgary, which now trails this best-of-seven series 2-1.
Kris Draper scored twice for the Red Wings, who won the first two games in Detroit but fell short in their bid to take a commanding 3-0 series lead. Dominik Hasek allowed three goals on 28 shots in the losing effort.
Detroit, the top-seeded team in the West for the second consecutive postseason, lost in the opening round last April to Edmonton.
Game 4 will be Thursday in Calgary.
