WASHINGTON, April 7 (UPI) -- Eric Byrnes hit a solo home run and drove in two Saturday night as the Arizona Diamondbacks pounded the Washington Nationals, 7-1.

Tony Clark went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, Chad Tracy hit a two-run double, and Chris B. Young hit an RBI double for the Diamondbacks, who have won the first three games of the four-game holiday weekend series at Washington's RFK Stadium.

After a shaky beginning, winning pitcher Brandon Webb (1-0) -- the National League's reigning Cy Young Award winner -- surrendered an earned run and seven hits in seven innings with three walks and eight strikeouts.

Austin Kearns hit a solo homer in the bottom of the sixth. Both Kearns and Felipe Lopez had two hits for the Nationals, who have lost three in a row.

Losing pitcher John Patterson (0-2) allowed three earned runs and four hits in five innings with four walks and two strikeouts.
