DENVER, April 4 (UPI) -- Matt Holliday had four hits, four RBI and two runs Wednesday as Colorado trounced Arizona, 11-4.
His RBI double in the bottom of the first helped the Rockies build an early 3-0 lead.
He swatted a solo homer in the bottom of the seventh; and his two-run single was part of a seven-run eighth.
Todd Helton had two hits, two runs and two RBI; Jamey Carroll had three hits and two runs; Yorvit Torrealba had three hits, and one RBI; and winner Rodrigo Lopez (1-0) gave up two runs -- one earned -- and six hits in seven innings with no walks and five strikeouts for the winners.
Eric Byrnes had two hits, including a solo home run; Conor Jackson hit a sacrifice fly; Miguel Montero had two hits and one RBI; Chris B. Young hit an RBI ground-out; and loser Doug Davis (0-1) yielded three unearned runs and eight hits in five innings for the Diamondbacks.
